Quinnipiac Virtual Medical Simulation
Developed a virtual reality simulation tool for training and assessing medical personnel in a team of three programmers using the Unity Engine and Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 headsets. Regularly met with clients and stakeholders to demonstrate progress, ask questions, and iterate on our design. Additionally worked with Unity's OpenXR, C#, MongoDB, and 3D scanning services.
We presented the project at CCSCNE 2024 and at the Quinnipiac School of Computing and Engineering Projects Day 2024. Our project statement was the following:
βIn large organizations, access to accurate simulation resources can be limited because of the number of people who depend on them to meet ongoing professional practice evaluations (OPPE) requirements. The Quinnipiac Virtual Medical Simulation aims to address these issues, offering a solution for creating highly customizable VR simulations that mirror real procedures. The application supports loading models and assets, building and creating scenarios, practicing inside simulated scenarios, and reviewing results through replays and performance statistics.β
